Nettie's is looking for a Chef to oversee our kitchen! Our current team consists of 3 line cooks (including a Sous Chef), a Kitchen Manager/ head of prep,2part-time prep cooks, and 2 dishwashers. We feed anywhere from 100 - 200 covers per day, depending on the day of the week and the season.We like to think of our menu as "elevated nastolgia" - food that reminds you of what you grew up eatingin your Italian-American home, but prepared on an elevated, professional level. Everything at Nettie's is made from scratch - we don't take any shortcuts! Fresh pasta, sausage, meatballs, cheese, pickles, etc. are made in-house daily. We believe that a smaller menu made with integrity is superior to a huge menu with mediocre food.Your responsibilities as Chef would include the following: Expedite the lineduring service, 5 nights / week Oversee and inspire our kitchen team Food quality control Food safety / be aware ofall ingredients for guest allergies Create specials to run on a regular basis and describe to FOH team Hire. train, and fire BOH staff Schedule BOH using 7Shifts Order product / oversee ordering Monthly inventory Control food cost Ensure that kitchen is kept clean and maintained at all times Benefits include: 2 weeks paid vacation 1 weekESL (sick time) 75% of health insurance paid for by Nettie's Family meal Shift drinks Employee discounts 401K We're looking for someone who: is PASSIONATE about food & cooking! hasexperience with Italiancuisine & flavors is constantly learning & growing as a chef feels motivated by teaching, coaching, and leading employees is open to constructive criticism (leave your ego at home) likes to have fun while keeping it professional
